A stroll in Dol

There are a handful of great family walks that can be done right from your doorstep, for example, the Mawddach Trail.  This walk takes a path along the estuary from Dolgellau to Barmouth.  It’s about 9 miles long and is suitable for all abilities with no climbing involved.  A section of the trail has been adapted for those with disabilities too, so everyone can get some fresh air.

The Torrent Walk is a little more than a stroll.  It’s a circular route of about 2.5 miles which a slightly rougher and has steeper sections.  It’s a fantastic walk that usually takes 1 – 2 hours.

The Precipice Walk is one of the most popular walks in Southern Snowdonia.  The views are spectacular and well worth the 3 mile journey out of town to the start point.  The walk is elevated between 700-850ft above sea level and it will take an hour or two to complete the loop.

The house has a collection of maps, books and information leaflets for guests to peruse so you can plan your walk, trails, hikes and climbs.  There’s so much to do, you’ll want to stay longer!
